PHP 8.2 and 8.3 now available on cPanel
Following our updates this week, we've added PHP 8.2 and PHP 8.3 to our cPanel hosting platform. Customers on cPanel can now move their websites onto a newer, fully supported version of PHP.
We'd encourage you to do so. Newer PHP versions receive security fixes for far longer, and they're generally faster than the versions they replace — most sites see a noticeable improvement simply from moving up.
How to change your PHP version
- Log in to your cPanel control panel.
- Open Select PHP Version (you may find it listed under Software, or as MultiPHP Manager).
- Choose 8.3, or 8.2 if you'd prefer to move up more gradually, and save.
Please test your site afterwards
Most websites move across without any trouble, but older code, themes or plugins occasionally need updating to work on a newer version of PHP. After switching, have a look over your site — particularly any contact forms, logins or checkout pages — to check everything still behaves as expected.
If something doesn't look right, you can switch straight back to your previous version the same way, and then open a ticket so we can help you sort it out.
Not sure, or would rather we checked first? Open a ticket and we'll look at your site, tell you which version it's on, and advise whether it's ready to move. We're happy to do this with you rather than leave you guessing.
On a different platform? If your hosting isn't on cPanel, get in touch and we'll let you know what's available for your account.

All servers patched — monitoring continues
Following our notice last night, security updates have now been applied across all of our servers. This addresses the critical PHP vulnerability disclosed on 21 October (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619), and every affected system has been brought up to the required version.
Aside from the brief interruption at around 9:30pm yesterday evening, services have run normally throughout.
We are continuing to monitor the situation. Our team will keep watching for any further developments, and if anything changes we'll post an update here and on our network status page.
Please check the PHP version your website is running
We look after the security of the hosting platform itself — the servers, and the PHP software installed on them. Choosing which PHP version your own website runs on remains your responsibility as the site owner, and it's something we'd ask every customer to review.
Older PHP versions eventually stop receiving security fixes altogether, which leaves a website exposed no matter how well the underlying server is maintained. We'd strongly encourage you to make sure your site is running the most recent PHP version available to you, and to keep it current going forward.
You can check and change your PHP version from your control panel. If you're unsure which version your site uses, or whether it will run correctly on a newer one, open a ticket and we'll be glad to check it with you before you make the change.
If you notice anything unexpected with your website or email — anything that wasn't happening before yesterday evening — please open a ticket or call us on 0161 711 0537 and we'll look into it straight away.
Thank you for your patience while this work was carried out.

Security updates in progress
We're applying important security updates across our hosting platform this evening, following the disclosure of a critical vulnerability in PHP — the software that powers the majority of websites on the internet.
A significant part of our platform has already been updated, and our engineers are working through the night to complete the remaining servers. We expect all work to be finished by the start of business tomorrow morning.
Brief interruption this evening. Some services saw a few minutes of unexpected downtime at around 9:30pm while updates were applied. This was resolved quickly and services returned to normal.
Do I need to do anything? No action is needed for the updates themselves. Your websites and email will continue to run as normal, and you may notice very brief interruptions as individual servers are restarted overnight.
One thing worth checking. If you manage your own website, we'd encourage you to make sure it's running the most recent PHP version available in your control panel. Older PHP versions stop receiving security fixes, so keeping your sites current is the single best protection against issues like this one. You can change your PHP version from your control panel — if you're not sure which version you're on, or whether your site will work on a newer one, get in touch and we'll check it with you.
We'll keep you posted. If we expect any significant downtime, or if any further issues arise, we'll post an update here and on our network status page.
More information. This is an industry-wide issue affecting hosting providers worldwide, rather than anything specific to iRack:

Welcome to our new website
We've rebuilt iracknet.com from the ground up. The new site is faster, far easier to navigate, and works properly on phones and tablets — something the old site never really did.
What's changed:
- Clearer services — domains, web & email hosting, and Microsoft 365 each have their own page, with straightforward pricing you can actually see before you buy.
- A single place for control panels — whichever platform your services run on, the Control Panels page gets you to the right login.
- Coming soon — we're preparing to launch Virtual Servers and Proxies & IPs. Register your interest and you'll be first to hear.
Nothing changes for existing customers. Your services, pricing and renewal dates all continue exactly as they are, and the client portal works just as before.
If you spot anything that doesn't look right on the new site, please let us know — we'd genuinely like to hear about it.
